Plastic Garbage in the Sea
Just how serious is the plastic pollution of the seas? Only 15 percent of the garbage is swept by sea currents onto beaches. 70 percent sinks to the floor of the sea and the rest floats around in the open sea. The actual extent of marine pollution is conveyed by an extensive image loop. The photographs were taken in the space of time from 2002 to 2012 by both professionals and amateurs. They show unambiguously that seas throughout the world are affected by the garbage problem.
