Microplastic Particles
Recent studies have shown that textiles made of fleece or other synthetic fibers lose up to 1’900 fibers every time they are washed. Peeling products, which frequently contain microplastic beads made of polyethylene, present a similar problem. These micro-particles (smaller than 5 mm) generally reach the sea unfiltered, pollute beaches or, enriched with harmful substances, enter the food chain. Here products made from natural materials offer an important alternative.
